Grindelwald is a winter sport resort of superlatives, and also the largest ski resort in the Jungfrau region. With the three areas of First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn, Grindelwald offers unlimited skiing pleasure.

Non-skiers also get their money’s worth in the Jungfrau region. On 100 km of groomed trails, they can discover the mountains on foot – from exploring the valley at 800m to hiking to the summit at 2,600m.

A myriad of sledding runs guarantee great winter fun for the young and the young-at-heart. A highlight not to be missed is the descent from Faulhorn to Grindelwald via Bussalp. With a distance of 15 km and a difference in altitude of 1,600m, this is the longest sledding run in the Alps. And if there is one thing you absolutely must try, it is the “Velogemel”, Grindelwald’s own unique snow bike.

Ice sports
There are several different kinds of ice sports to enjoy in this region, such as curling, ice skating and ice hockey on both natural and artificial ice rinks.

Cross-country skiing
Grindelwald has approximately 15.5km of cross-country trails for skiers of every level. Grindelwald Grund offers skating tracks and cross-country tracks with guaranteed snow.

Not only is the Jungfrau region a paradise for skiers, it also makes a snowboarder’s heart skip a beat. These sporty types find their fun on the countless slopes and in the snowboard parks of Grindelwald-First and Mürren-Schilthorn.

Telemark is a ski technique that originated in Norway and has once again gained popularity in the Jungfrau region these past years.
